Rose Petals
can be used in various ways to add many months of enjoyment to your roses.
- Candied rose petals
- Book pressed petals
- Scented Room Spray/Linen freshener
- Eco-friendly confetti
Recipe 1: Candied Rose Petals
Perfect for cake decoration or making deserts "next level", these are easy to do and cheap to make.

You will need:
- Dried petals of a few dozen organic, unsprayed roses or edible flowers
- 1 beaten egg white
- 1 cup castor sugar
Gently brush each petal with egg white, and then carefully dip each side into the sugar (try colouring the sugar for added effects).
Dry the petals for 8 hours on a wire tray in a dark, cool and dry room
Recipe 2: Book-pressed Petals

This is a lovely way to keep your flowers for many years.
Lay each flower on a sheet of white paper, or between the pages of a book, making sure the flowers are not touching.
If using white paper, place another white sheet of paper on top and then carefully put the flowers and paper sheets between the pages of a heavy book.
Place more heavy books on top to add weight.
Allow the books to do their magic by leaving them undisturbed for about 4 weeks.
Recipe 3: Scented room spray/linen Freshener
Keep your home smelling fresh all year round or add a few drops to refresh your sheets and towels in the drawers.

You will need
- 200mls Distilled water
- 100mls Vodka (or you can use Gin)
- Dried flower petals
- 10 drops of your favourite essential oil
Mix all of the ingredients into a spray bottle. Shake gently and allow to infuse. Then use wherever you want this scent to weave it's magic.
Recipe 4: Eco-friendly Confetti
This is a great alternative to the traditional confetti strewn at weddings.
Chop mixed coloured and dried petals into small pieces to decorate or throw at special occasions. If the petals are small, leave whole.
